Wrist Pain - Causes & Solutions
Our hands, by design, were not intended for weight bearing, so it's no wonder that many of us experience pain or discomfort when assuming those Pilates or yoga positions that require us to do just that - bear body weight on our hands. Discomfort may simply be a result of mild limitations in wrist range of motion, improper alignment of shoulders, arms and hands or reduced core and arm strength.
Gentle and gradual stretching and strengthening exercises, along with proper body alignment and weight distribution may reduce your wrist discomfort in weight bearing positions.

Living and Working With Chronic Wrist Pain

In my work the use of my hands is required continuously for twelve hours a day, three to four days a week; there have been some excruciating days to endure. About three months after the pain began I went through testing, and was consequently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in both wrists.

Life Art Models and Hand Wrist Pains
Most people think that wrist pain comes from high-repetition of unnatural motion, such as those which occur at the grocery store moving items across the scanner at the checkout counter or those who spend all day typing on a key-board. It's not that those things are not problematic or cause carpal tunnel, research proves they do, but what people fail to realize is there are so many other things which cause hand and wrist pain. I'd like to tell you about one you hadn't yet considered; that of a life art model, attempting to hold a pose for a long-period of time for a group of painters.
